interfacing gsm module with a controller

dear all,
i am a student and have no knowledge on controllers. i have been given a project which should do the following things.
operate 20 relays using sms through gsm module and the user should get an update through sms and an update about the relays on internet i guess through gprs... i really need help regarding this please help me...i am continously studying about these things but still unable to do anything... please help me thankyou very much....

Hi guy just study the AT command set manual and u can do tat.First u choose a controller and tell what type of modem u have now.
