hi everyone

i am beginner in embedded system and haven't much experience at all. currently i have selected a project that aims to perform is:
interfacing gps and gsm with single pic controller. i am using pic 18f458. it has only one serial port for data transfer. so it can get data from either gps or gsm at a time.
but i need both working simultaneously.

i have no idea what to do..
your help in this regard will be highly appreciated.
thanking in advance.

regards
balte

hi
you can connect GSM with PIC's hardware UART(serial port) and you can use software UART(using bit banging technique) for GPS as you need to only receive data from GPS so it should be simple
