Interfacing EZTouch HMI with AVR using MODBUS.

Does anybody have any experiance with a HMI and MODBUS protocol?
I want to interface an EZTouch HMI with an AVR microcontroller using the MODBUS protocol (Or any other protocol, as long as it's simple).

I have implemented MODBUS serial ASCII slave in AVRco multitasking pascal.

Then I connected my AVR devices directly to Citect SCADA, and with Modbus OPC server to SmartSCADA, Siemens WinCC and Citect.
