Hi,
I do need any tutorials or books about industrial networks. I wanna gain knowledge about the communication between any logic processor ( DSP , micro controller )and the PC as well as the RS232 and the RS485.from where shall i start ?
it would be helpful also if anyone can recommend any site ..

Re: Industrial networks

I work with Dallas Semi 1-Wire industrial serial interface, very useful for telemetry apps, large arrays of sensors and control devices. Not good for high-speed fancy stuff like video, etc

It does have rs232 adapter and some Linux folk had developed a virtual file system where each device on the 1-Wire network shows up as a file within the virtual file system. So access is very easy from a programming standpoint. Take a look at owfs.sf.net - there are number of good application projects published.

All invented by Maxim/Dallas, individual node chips are like $3 each or so
