input referred current noise

Hello everybody,

I'm designing a low noise differential amplifier using the ams0.35um technology in the cadence environment.
This amplifier is going to work as a differential amplifier without feedback because the amplitude of the input signals is really small. The output is going to be single ended.
Now i'm trying to simulate the input referred current noise PSD with virtuoso analog environment (spectre simulator) but i dont know hot to do it.

Is there someone that can help solving this issue?

Thanks very much to everyone that answer.

input referred current

May be this workshop can help?

power spectral density of current

Hi Erikl,

thanks for answering.

I have not been clear enough. I'm designing a differential amplifier for
low frequency applications. It's like i'm designing an operational amplifier that i'm going to use without feedback.
So the stage is composed by a lateral BJT input pair and a MOS current mirror load. Since the input is done with bipolar transistors, it's important also to evaluate the input-referred current noise PSD that can not be neglected (like in the case of MOS input pair).
I hope I have been clearer now.

Thanks a lot for answering.

the input is done

Yes. But the method should be the same, independent of RF or AF (high or low frequencies).
Cheers, erikl

Create a test bench for your LNA (LNA including input source + output load), then - within ADE - run a noise simulation within the frequency range you want. When terminated, you can plot the PSD contribution for any single device in your test bench, or the total noise PSD at a previously defined output.
