Infrared and gps and connectivity

**Few Points:**
1) I need to fit an IR emitter on a piece of cardboard.
2) and an IR detector on a separate board. Connected to this board is a GPS device, both boards separated by a distance of 100-120 cms.
3)The IR detector, after detecting the IR light must send signals to the GPS device(connected on the same board as the IR detector, separated by a distance of MAX 1.5cm)
4) Then the GPS device has to send the status of the IR detector's signal to a tablet/mobile via a network(NOT WIFI---NOT BLUETOOTH).

PROBLEM.
1) How to transfer the signals from the IR detector to the GPS device?
2)How can the GPS device transmit IR detectors status via a network to a tablet/phone.
3)NO WIRES must be included between the IR detector and the GPS device.

Since i am not an electronics guy, i havo no musch knowledge about the circuit boards and connections. Detailed Answer will be appreciated :)

1) For sending data to the board that include GPS device, you could use serial port and RS232 protocol or i2c
2) One GSM module such as SIM300 can take data and send to any phone by SMS message or GPRS module can send to the web.
3) For transfer data between IR module and GPS you can use some way such as RF (for example use rfm12) or one wire protocol (see https://www.yamar.com/benefits.html)

if i use rfm12, then how will be the IR Module, GPS and the rfm12 be connected?

RFM12 and IR Module and GPS should be controlled by microcontrollers on each board and communication between board controlled by micro.
Dear kksandyrox , you should explain more about your project , type of your module (part number of them if already exist) and block diagram of your project.
I think you want to have a IR switch and it's position at time for example inside a vehicle you want to send data about position of vhicle and number of passengers.

The query that I posted first was just to make prototype/model of my project so that i could submit its synopsis this coming week.

Okay. So My actual project goes this way.

I want to make an android app for a tablet, that can show and be used by cops to detect people that do not ride their 2-wheelers with helmet.

here i planned to install a IR emitter on the helmet of a person riding the bike.
and an IR detector/receiver along with a gps device to detect the IR light(from the helmet) and to track the bike respectively ON THE BIKE.

IR detector/receiver and the gps device will be installed somewhere around the area of the odometer.
Gps device is just used to track the bike in realtime.

The power to the IR detector/receiver ON THE BIKE will be backed up by the bike's battery, and the IR detector/receiver ON THE BIKE will start scanning for the IR Emitter's light as soon as the bike starts(this can be one by connecting the bikes ignition to the power of the IR detector). this means once the bike is started(on) the detector will start scanning for the IR light coming from the helmet. and it will scan after every 100 seconds.

[[[[[[[[ If IR light is found then --> it means that the person is wearing a helmet and the vehicle will be shown as a green dot in the application.
if Not---> then the person is riding without a helmet and is shown on the app using a red dot.]]]]]]]]]

Problem is.. how to transfer these data via a network to a distant tablet/phone? can the IR device in any way transmit these data to the gps device?

Since I am not an electronics guy,i would not prefer doin stuffs like soldering and all.

The whole assembly must not be more than 8-9 cms in size.

Okay.
I think you can use a "GPS tracker" like : https://mp3mp4players.co.uk/328-car-tracker-gps-tracker-3.html & https://anixon.en.alibaba.com/produ...ut_output_port_Vehicle_Gps_Tracker_VT310.html so these device have GPS and GPRS for sending data to tablet.moreover some GPS tracker have additional option for example speed control , SOS ,....
In addition these devices have auxiliary digital input that you can connect IR circuit .
For IR circuit you can make a simple circuit that detect IR transmiter like this : https://www.simplecircuitdiagram.com/2010/10/21/555-infrared-transmitter-receiver and connect it's relay to GPS tracker.
However I think maybe IR sensor does not work properly because of helmet position and wag of driver head while driving. I think it is better that you use IR transceiver inside helmet for detecting head and send this data by Bluetooth,FM transceiver or other method to GPS tracker

can a GPS enabled mobile phone be used as a GPS device in this case? and still perform all the operations you mentioned above?

If I understood correctly your purpose is that what time and how sending alarm to tablet .ok?
Should say GPS and GPRS module are built in this package will work :
1) When you trigger device by software installed on your tablet (at this time tablet sending a SMS request to device for catching data) .
2) when you trigger some input port or Or some events that will send data to the your phone or pc or tablet. data send by web also(GPRS).
However I don't sure that mentioned GPRS tracker at last post can do these items perfectly.
For more info please contact them.
How sending data ?
Usually these devices have slot for SIM Card. Micro controller of these device collect GPS position(NMEA) and port status and send a package data by short message (SMS) or GPRS (sending data to an IP over network).

how to relay the output of the IR tranceiver to GPS device wirelessly
also please tell me the output of the IR tranceiver? analog or digital

also tell me where the data will be transmitted , on which server or IP address?
also tell me in what format the data will be saved

If you mean is the GPS tracker therefor we can receive data form helmet by a FM transceiver like RFM01 and RFM02.
2) all data is digital and detecting head at helmet you have just 0&1 that you can send it by a sender like RFM01.
3)As i told You should decide that what method you want to send data over internet or by SMS
If you use SMS method you not need to know about Data over internet and just you working by SMS and sending data directly to laptop

so you saying, just a FM transceiver like RFM01 and RFM02(alone) will be able to detect the head, and transmit the signal?? OR
is it like this--SOME DEVICE IN HELMET TO DETECT HEAD----->SEND SIGNAL TO RFM01/02------>SEND SIGNAL TO GPS?

Yes, by an infrared you can detect head and next you send this puls by rfm01
