Hello,

I'm looking for information about the SMPTE timecode.
I found a lot of stuff in google, but the most was about the protocol and not the physics.

Here are my interests:

SMPTE timecode protocol(s) -> detailed description
SMPTE timecode physics -> which hardware do I need for in/output.

Thank you in advance,
cube007

PS: English stuff would be very good but German would be better.

Look at **broken link removed**

I used this chip in the past. It can do almost anything with SMPTE timecodes VITC/LTC/MIDI etc.
Pretty simple to interface it to let's say AVR90S8515 or similar microcontroller.

Hi CADDevil,

thank you very much for this good link. It seems that it's realy easy to interface it.
