Info on SD Flash cards

Hi All

I was wondering if anyone has any (a lot) of information on the SD Flash cards. I need to use it for general storage in a FPGA based uP system... not sure which one yet. I require a a lot of storage - up to 1GB and and have an input rate of 1 MB/sec. Can anyone get me started in the right direction?
