Re: new to linux

Hi,
Yeah Red Hat is a distribution for Linux.
Linux has many versions like Red Hat, Mandrake, Susse etc.
You can download any one of these.

Thanks

new to linux

Ok, I think you should read the documents that ivar4ever provided. Linux has many different distrobutions, lets say you have xp from company A, xp from company B etc...
So depending on what you want from you distrobution, you choose your linux. You can even create your own linux and call it the veiledcavalier-linux
The newest distrobutions are available from the websites of the "companies" that distribute the linux. Like Mandriva, Fedora Core, Debian, Ubuntu, Kubuntu, Gentoo etc... there are about +-450 official linux releases, not gonna name them all.

Re: new to linux

Hi,
If you want a windows like linux, I mean good GUI Linux, than try Fedora 9 or 10.
Those are quite similar to windows in terms of GUI.

Thanks
Shaikh Sarfraz
