Hi,

I am puzzled - I have found several different thread sizes. Here is what I see:

The stadnard hex standoff major thread is 6-32 (that is 0.130") and the smaller thread is 4-40 (major diameter 0.111")

However, if you open a DB9 or DB25 connector one will find a male/female hex standoff which does NOT fit those sizes. Its major OD is 0.100" and it does NOT fit any of the 6-32 screws nor does it fit (it is too loose) 4-40 screws? I took that OD with a micrometer and I was totally stumped and did it several times just to make sure I am not screwing around but it was what it was!

Anyone has any idea about this stuff? I am stuck with bunch of hex standoffs that came from serial cables and I want to find matching nuts but I can't
