inductor limiter

HI,,I am using an inductor to limit the high current,,,I know there are other technique as well,,,but I want this one for comparision.
but in simulation why i am getting AC current, while my input voltage is DC.
Do I have any wrong approach?

Hi,

A C and an L (both ideal in your case) results in a resonance circuit.

What you see is the step response of your circuit. --> resonance frequency according fr = 1 / (2 x Pi x sqrt(L x C))

But i have a general question,
if we select an inductor from ltspice library,,,then what is I(PK)A....it's peak current right?
but is it maximum which inductor can sustain or what excatly is it?
can you explain a bit or some reading links?

Review the respective datasheets to see what the Ipk specification means. Can be either saturation or thermal Irms limit.
