inductive proximity sensor question

hello dears .. i am just inquiring of there is any idea to use the inductive proximity sensor as an analog sensor used to check the distance long for example ?? ... i mean if it can do more than checking if the object is in range or not ,not only (on or off ) but can generate an analog output
