hi,
i am looking techniques to increase range of infra red control system. If you guys have some ideas, please share with me

You can use more LEDs in parallel and increase the peak current through them. At the same time, since you increased the current, you may want to reduce the carrier duty-cycle in order to save some power.
 

Focus the transmitting beam and focus the receiver.
Make the receiver have more gain to be more sensitive.
 

use IR laser
but pointing is required.. in this kind of setup..

user better receiver/sensor
