Hi,

I need to implement window watchdog as a separate hardware component in a project.
So I was considering the chip NCV8668-D
https://www.onsemi.com/pub_link/Collateral/NCV8668-D.PDF

The requirement also mentions that " WD shall use a separate time base" which i fail to understand..
So which timer should be used ?The one inside the micro controller?
Can some body help me to understand the same?
Thanks

The IC you have chosen should be ok for the job.

'WD shall use a separate time base' just means that the watchdog should not use the same oscillator clock as the micro.
As the IC has it's own internal clock, the requirements are met.
