Hi..

I want to implement a state machine in BRAM. Can anyone tell me how to do this.
Doing this should i need to instantiate any component. If the answer is no, how can i give the constraints to synthesizer and P&R tools.

While Implementing state machine in BRAM, will it have any improvement in speed. Implementing state machine in BRAM is recommended or not.

Plz share your ideas.

Thanks

Hi.

I am using Precision RTL for synthesis, ISE for P&R. I am implementing on Xilinx spartan 3s2000 device.

Thanks

I don't know the answer, but Xilinx XST (the HDL synthesis tool in Xilinx ISE) provides an FSM_STYLE BRAM option. Maybe Precision RTL has something similar.
