I'm an embedded developer and I'm supposed to implement IEC 104 SCADA protocol on TCP. I've managed to implement TCP stack on my board But I don't know anything about IEC 60870-5-104.
Of course I've searched for this but nothing useful that make sense for me. I found this site:

but again I didn't understand it. So is it possible that someone tells me very simple that what am I dealing with here and maybe a document or something?
(Just a guess) Do I have to buy this protocol?
I'm really not that stupid! It's just I've never done something like this and never worked in this area.
I know that using TCP you can create a socket and send or receive strings through it.
