Hi,
I have the following problem:
I own an old TV set with 'hot chassis' without 'Video IN'.
To use it,I modulate the video signal with VCR.But the quality is compromised mainly because of the poor RF/IF parts of the TV set.
So I need to make a Video input.
I don't want to use an isolating mains transformer to separate the internal circuitry from the mains because it's bulky and let's say it is not a very elegant solution.
I tried to make an isolated circuit by optocouplers, but the problem was the limited frequency responce (leading to black and white picture).
Making an isolating transformer with freq. responce from 25Hz to 6MHz is clearly not possible for me.
Do you have other ideas to solve the problem?
Fancy chips are of no use because probably I won't be able to find them.
Thank you in advance!

Re: Video isolating amp

Hi,
Supplay TVset from main power line through isolation transformer.
Best,

Re: Video isolating amp

Try to use HCPL4562.
This is a linear opto-isolator specialy designed for video applications.
It can be purchased from for example, RS components..
Other option will be a video transformer (plenty of offers on the net), however, they are not cheap.
I hope this link can be of any use to you ..

Re: Video isolating amp

Thanks a lot,I think this optocoupler will do.
I think I can even find it at a reasonable price where I live.
