Hello,

We have here a strange problem. We succedded in installing and launching icms-50 on a redhat9 box using a NFS server. We tried to do the same on another box, but icms fails (segfault (SIGSEGV)) when running AnalogEnvironment and SpectreRF.

More details:

We then tried on two other machines, a AthlonXP and a P4.
The installation is identical because everything is NFS-mounted on all boxes.
The license server works with all machines.
Local libraries are identical (RH9 version, we checked by hand every libraries versions in /lib).
The kernel version is the same on both side (2.4.20)
We tried the "setenv LD_ASSUME_KERNEL 2.4.1" (although we can't see it in the ld.so manpage).
We tried many other things, but it still does not work (segfault).

We can't understand why it works an a machine and not the other.
Is anyone who can help ?

Thanks very much for any advice and / or test we could do on our boxes.

Kind regards

Re: icms-50 working under RH9 on one machine but not the oth

Hello,

We solved our problem :

unsetenv LANG
unsetenv LC_*everything*

and it works (under redhat9, fedora, Debian/sid, ...) using libstdc++-3-libc6.2-2-2.10.0.so (the library in the rh7.2/7.3 libstdc++ package), the appropriate link and setenv LD_LIBRARY_PATH.

You mean that the tool can only run under RH 7.2/7.3, at least it should use the compat-lib.
Many EDA tools use RH 7.2/7.3/8.0 as their test platform
