I encountered something strange and I hope someone can help me here.
I just installed ic5.0 in redhat 8. Everything works fine until I try simulating pss. I always get the following error, even for a very simple circuit which is run properly on IC50 installed on Solaris:
Internal error found in spectre during periodic steady state analysis `pss'.
Please run `getSpectreFiles' or send the netlist, the spectre log file,
the behavioral model files, and any other information that can help
identify the problem to support@cadence.com.
Assertion failed in file `hopss.c' at line 1313.
Assertion failed.
I guess it may be casued some Envirument Variable whichs is not set properly or maybe I need a OS patch for IC50 to run properly on RH80.
any one can run PSS analysis properly on RH7.3 or RH7.2?
I had the similar problem but not sure whether the exact one as yours. However, I found out that spectreRF is not supported under ic50. You have to upgrade to either ic5032 or ic5033.

IC50 can be installed under redhat7.2,redhat7.3&redhat8.0,but redhat9.0 can not be supported!
Pengboy,
Maybe firstly, you should check a file in ~/simulation/<cellviewname>/spectre/schematic/psf
directory, but I forgot the file name, whether the file is larger than 2,000MB.
If it does be true, you should appoint a swapfile in the pss setting window->option
