I want to learn Mechanical engineering from scratch..I am from Electronic & Instrumentation background

This is the answer what I got from an expert.

"Start with any good book on Engineering Mechanics. You need to understand the basic concepts of forces, moments, and motion (kinematics). Then you may proceed to learn about Dynamics. One good book (new editions come in two volumes) to start with is by Beer and Johnston."

I want to learn things by energy view point. I am Mechatronics & Industrial Robotics hobbyist.

Please help.

Your terms (mechanical engineering, energy viewpoint, Mechatronics & Industrial Robotics hobbyist, Electronic & Instrumentation background)...

bring to mind these topics:

* motors (speed, torque, construction, available options, power usage)
* batteries (construction, installation, power ratings, charging, safety)
* formulae that translate between electrical and mechanical concepts
* gears (materials, operation)
* propulsion and steering
* gravity and balance
* weight distribution (stationary and in motion)

It's fine to go the textbook route but as you can see there's a great deal of ground to cover. There's theory, and there's real-life application. I have a hunch you'll think up practical ideas to experiment with, simply from looking over a textbook's table of contents.
