I setup the IC5.0 on linux7.3 with root.
but I don't know how to set the environment variables &where can I start the license manager?
please help me!

1. First setup the environment variable CDS_LIC_FILE(or LM_LICENSE_FILE) to the path of your license file.
2. Check you license file if the path of server and daemon is set correctly or not. For example:
SERVER HOSTNAME LMHOSTID PORTNUMBER
DAEMON /usr/ic5/tools/bin/cdslmd

3. Assume that your ic5 has installed in the path IC5_HOME, than you can run the license daemon using the following command:
$IC5_HOME/tools/bin/lmgrd -c CDS_LIC_FILE -l LOGFILENAME

Hope this is heplful for you... :)

Sir,thanks for your reply!
but now,I have another question!
I modified the .bashrc & .cshrc files in the /root.
now I can't login with root.
I use another user,in command line,I su in /root and I want to "vi" the files.but system say that it has no vi command.
how can I do?
reinstall redhat?

Type the CD-ROM mount point: [ /mnt/cdrom ]

tar: This does not look like a tar archive
tar: Skipping to next header
tar: Archive contains obsolescent base-64 headers
tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors
/home/EDA/Cadence/ic5033/install/bin.lnx86/softload: line 1412:

It seems you tried to install ic5 in redhat 9.x.
With redhat 8.0, it will be ok.

but previously it worked
this time failed why ?
even for the psd its showing me the same error!

what will be wrong

thanks
binu g

Under root you can change the ownership of your cadence directory by the following command:

chown username IC5_directory

Now you can run it w/out having to have a root privilege.

It's not a good idea to install as root

Is psd15.1 is not compactable with the redhat 9 ?

might be not. but that's will npt the problem. i guess there is someting wrong with your CD and the way you install the software. Did you read the instruction carefull?

how could i fix it.

i still remember that i have done it by the same cd.
but now it is not at all installing any eda tools
even ic5 showing the same error.

what may be wrong with my linux os ?

I can setup it with my cds.but I can't work well,for it can't netlisting.

Is AMD athlon XP with a Via chipset will not support ?

Hi
durring the installation process
i noticed that none of the doc provided by the package helped.
why?
the command used to install is given "SETUP.SH"
when i type it in the console i find error.
but able to execute using sh SETUP.SH and ./SETUP.SH
why there is a varation in the instructions

please correct me if iam wrong.
