I cannot power that pelletier module : TEC2-25408

Hello,

I have tried to power that pelletier module with an AT power supply but I reached max -10°C or something

so I ordered a 12V 10A power supply,

as I measure the pelletier module, it really does not go up to specs

barely -20°C (should <-30°C) and current is only half of the specified current

Do you have a full datasheet with I/V/ΔT curves? What's the expected hot side temperature for -30° cold side? Did you check the actual temperature?

Most likely problem is insufficient heat sinking at the hot side.

yes, checked the temp with an ir temp "gun"
I am indeed building a bigger cooler/double fan apartus :)

It's generally no good idea to operate a peltier element with fixed voltage supply because for each combination of heat sink thermal resistance, ambient temperature and pumped power there's an optimal operation current respectively voltage.

Said TEC2-25408 may need higher voltage, e.g. 14 or 15 V.

I can try many different voltages
yet, finding datasheets is not easy

After all is done and said, this is a thermodynamic problem.
-What is the fan’s airflow and under what static pressure?
-What is the heatsink’s thermal resistance, with the calculated airflow?
-What is the heatsink’s ambient temperature?
-How many calories, joules, BTUs (or whatever thermal unit you wish to use) is the peltier module rated for? How does that compare to your thermal load?
-What are the peltier’s losses, which the heatsink will also dissipate?

without calculating the heatsinks required for each side and the watts you are ( hopefully ) shifting off the hot side - you are operating blind - very tricky to arrive at a useful working arrangement under this approach ...
