To Administrator !

Is it possible that this forum does not have SSL protection while users trying to login !?!?!

As far as I can see my username and password is wide-open for internet interceptors ...

Please advice ...

Have you seen any other forums using SSL?
Please provide us a few examples.

Why would anyone try to steal your EDAboard password, to do what?
I really don't see the implications that you seem to suggest.

In addition if moderators don't have such a security issue (whose account hijacking would be a real problem due to raised privileges) then I don't see why you are making such a big deal of this.

Sorry for late answer, I am here from time to time...

Answer is yes and no !

If you try to login to any forum using http you can do it, 100% sure. BUT a lot of them (not just few) has an option to use https protocol so users can choose how to login and secure their log-in credentials (if they have intrested to do it, for some reason - accesing forum from some public network like web cafe ...).

If you still need info if there is any forum with such options, all you have to do is "https forum" on Google search and you will have complete answer.

But, I understand, majority of forums are administered with limited funds and web certificates has to be renewed yearly or so...

Never mind, thank you on pointing this out.

Knut

Can you list a few of the electronic related forums you participate in that have HTTPS?

Also you didn't reply to my question of what will be the consequences of someone intercepting your forum password. I hope you are not using the same password in any confidential site (related to payments) or sensitive business accounts.
