ht12e address/data pins configuration ?

how to make 4 address/pin(S) in ht12e to work as address pin instead of data pins.........
what my doubt is instead of sending 4 bit parallel data,i have to send serial data through single pin and to recieve same data through single pin at ht12d reciever.......
