hi guys this is praveen,
i've got an assignment to do.
i've connect a 16x2 lcd to pc through usb.
i dont know any thing about usb.
i've worked on lcd previously. i've interfaced lcd to 8051 uc.

You need to use a microcontroller with USB port built on it, in order to do this, the programming will depend on the microcontroller you choose.

much easier:
choose an USB-to-Serial-Converter (e.g. https://www.ftdichip.com/FTProducts.htm#FT232BM) and combine it with a display with serial interface - no firmware has to be done

PIC18F2550 or 18F4550 both have USB slave hardware built in. The easy way is use an FT232R USB to RS232 (TTL) IC.

before you start I will suggest you to read all about USB port and then you start, if you dont know how data TX and RX though USB you will never get you points.
