Hi,

I am using TSMC 180 and trying to clear metal density errors with auto dummy fill. I have a file called "Dummy_Metal_Calibre_0.18um.214a", which TSMC says this is the Calibre dummy metal insertion runset. I tried to load this file as runset in DRC, but it was not recognized as a runset. Then I loaded this file as the DRC rule and set all veriables. The DRC did run but no changes were made to the layout.

Can anybody please give me some advice how I can use the TSMC auto dummy fill. Thanks a lot.

It should generate a secondary GDS file with all the metal fill. You then have to merge that 2nd file with your original GDS.
