I want to program a PIC with MPLAB and ICD2. I have the hex file, but I can't see how to use it in MPLAB. I can only import it (but I don't see if it is anywhere added) or include it when creating a project. When I do that, I start programming and, MPLAB reports no errors.

When I read from PIC, nothing happends. It says that the reading is complete, but where I can see the result?

Re: MPLAB and .hex files

Read the MPLAB help file. help->topics...

You need to set mplab to the type of microcontroller you are using.
configure->select device...

Have you check that the configuration (oscillator type etc) is correct?

After you have read a chip view->disassembly listing or
view->program memory should show the contents of the
chip provided it was not copy protected.
