Hi,

It depends on what circuity you have already or are proposing to have - can you post a diagram.

Hey,

From your question we assume that you are trying to develop an efficient battery
operated application using the AVR Device for which you need the Source code and tools.

Unfortunately I do not have the ready-made application note for the AVR device
mentioned in the request. However, it can be implemented using any AVR microcontroller with A/D converter, PWM output and enough program memory to store the desired charging algorithm.

You can refer the following documents to have a general idea for implementing battery operated applications along with source code and schematics:

www.atmel.com/avr/ -->Application Notes-->

-->1) AVR450: Battery Charger for SLA, NiCd, NiMH and Li-ion Batteries

-->2) AVR453: Smart Battery Reference Design

-->3) AVR454: Users Guide - ATAVRSB100 - Smart Battery Development kit

Refer the link below for more information on AVR® 8-Bit RISC devices used in Battery Management Applications:
http://www.atmel.com/products/avr/bm/default.asp?family_id=607

1)AVR352: Using the Coulomb Counting ADC
2)AVR353: Voltage Reference Calibration and Voltage ADC Usage
3)AVR120: characterisation and Calibration of the ADC on an AVR

Hope this serves your need and good luck with all your future AVR works :D
