arnab.bhaumik said:i am still wondering is it possible to break micros locks??? because the locks are in hardware and not in software...............
and if it possible then any well funded organisation(particularly govt organisation) will break the micro as needed..............
dear bhaumik.. i also run a development firm in india. and may be we are nereby.
u still dont know much more abt lock bits i suppose. ur second last statement. make me stunned... really. bcs i am just nearby solving this problem.

for at89c52 user ther is three lock bits for the user LB1,LB2,LB3....... we program it or left unprogrammed.
my question is that we user just program the lock bits. but inside the at89c52 is ther a hardware circuitry that gets activated by the programmed lock bits or it just the lock bits.............
and if other than the circuitry, if the programming sequence just check the lock bits when it try to read the flash and refuses to read then its become the very easy to read the flash by some triky programmer/software.........

dear bhaumik.
may be u and me dontknow as u have said; but people are there who know how atmel co. uses the lock bits.
now i am giving u two things to think. so u will not argue any more.
1> dont think the word "lock"as the conventional lock. its a phycological trap tht obstructs ppl to think more further ( same in ur case) ( the proof of this 1st clue u will find if u will think abt the second clue)
2> whn u erase the chip. wht do u think how how how-- the lock bits gets erased and how the program code gets ereased.
think about this two clues and i will get a clear-cut picture.
do write here.
-Rony.
and all those thing i am just guessing. because you and i all dont know how the manufacturing company(atmal) implement the locks in ther 8051 mcu

hats off to the guy who did a phd about this subject at stanford university.............................................
