How to transform 17 volts into 32 volts.

I am an electronic engineering student. i have a transformer of 220 to 17 volt. Now i wish to achieve 32 volts DC. i know that i should rectify and filter. But, what value of capacitors in filters will let me have 32 volts magically out of 17 volts.

You will not get 32V with a normal rectify and filter circuit from the 17V. You need to make use of a Voltage doubler circuit. It will look something like this :
