How to start GPRS communication between MC35i modem and Linux machine?

I'm a beginner.
Just purchased MC35i modem for the purpose of network application.
I have absolutely no idea how to start communicating with the module. I have to connect that modem to linux machine. please help me out in getting up communication with GPRS- MC35i modem.

IF ITS A NORMAL ROUTER JUST TO CONNECT U TO THE INTERNET THEN U NEED A RJ-45 CABLE IN CASE OF LAN CARD OR OTHERWISE U NEED JUST A MODEM SPECIFIC USB CABLE ... ASK UR NETWORK OPERATOR OR ISP FOR UR IP ADDRESS , DNS ADDRESS , GATEWAY ...

THEN U CAN GET CONNECTED TO THE NETWORK THRU NETWORK WIZARD IN LINUX BY WRITING #neat IN THE COMMAND WINDOW OR BY GOING INTO THE NETWORK PROPERTIES FROM START MENU ... IF U NEED FURTHER HELP ... CONTACT ME ....
