I am simulating a 1:4 power divider in HFSS, meaning I have 5 ports in total: Port 1 as the input and Ports 2, 3, 4, and 5 as outputs. My goal is to obtain only the transmission parameters (S11, S21, S31, S41, and S51) while exciting only Port 1.

Since I am not interested in exciting the other ports (Ports 2, 3, 4, and 5), I want to avoid unnecessary simulations for them to reduce simulation time. What is the best way to do this in HFSS? Should I set the output ports as terminations or use another approach?

Any advice or examples would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

This would make sense for FDTD simulation where one port is excited after another.
It makes no sense for HFSS using FEM where all ports are simulated simultaneously, one frequency point after another.
