frequency dependent resistor

Hi there:

Can someone suggest a way/solver to
simulate a frequency dependent
element (resistor)?
I am not saying using w-element
in Hspice, which is designed for
transmission line.

I am talking about a general frequency dependent
element, such as a resistor which has value

k*sqrt(f), k= constant

Thanks

frequency dependent resistor spice

I do know the details of Hspice but Pspice has math models where an ideal voltage controlled current source can have a polynomial related current to a voltage across any two nodes including the nodes it is connected to. I suspect that Hspice also has this idealized source.

You could form a frequency dependent network that is energized from sources that relay from the main terminals to produce your effect and then do the absolute value function and use the current source to draw the current.

frequency dependent resistor using pspice

You want to simulate an effect as resonance to packaging capacitance?
Well, the Application_Notes.pdf feratured a chapter on that.

These appnotes are at:

frequency dependent resistance pspice

Hi div,

why don't you use EM simulators, such as Sonnet, Hfss, CST MwStudio...etc. If you know the structure and material type, you can define the problem and simulate.

how to simulate frequency

lkuzu:

I understand what you are suggesting.

I need to use circuit solver since I need
to verify a frequency-dependent-model
extracted from physics.

change frequency with resistor

here is a little model you theoreticaly can do in spice

frequency dependent resistor in ads

if you are using @ds, it is very easy to simulate it.

pspice frequency dependend resistor

Simply replace the RES by one port or two port S parameter that vary with the freq.

modeling frequency dependent resistor

You may like to use SDD or FDD in ADS for this....

I have a similar problem: to simulate a gage that it's resistance changes in sinusoid.
