can someone please help me in reducing the temperature of the power transformer...
what should be done? should i decrease the freaquency?

thnxs in advace

Re: SMPS transformer

give me the full details (like core size output power ..........)

or

try this
www.powerint.com

search for AN-18.pdf (flayback transformer construction guide)

SMPS transformer

you maybe increase the core size and the wire size.

Re: SMPS transformer

You may induce gap between winding for better heat sink.

Re: SMPS transformer

If reduce the frequency will increase the core temperature. Probably you can use bifillar winding rather than single wire. This will reduce the ac resistance or the skin effect.

How to introduce gap in winding?

Re: SMPS transformer

actually what i know is its output power is 500W and it is a planar transformer. the wires are tripple insulated already...

the topology is full bridge and i have tried varying the blocking cap

thnks

How to introduce gap in winding?

put stripped paper between winding.

I dont think this is a effective way.
