I think you have taken gate so-many years ago. It introduced English from last 2 years!

Please have a look at the following links. There is a section on General Aptitude (which used to be there even before), but I did not see English language test.. Can you please go through and reconfirm ?

Go for GRE barrons book , i prepared english n apti from this buk , also from rs agarwal ... GATE english isn't tough , basic grammar knowledge n common sense will easily help u thru ....

Yes , GATE has aptitude test , which include verbal , non-verbal reasoning , logical reasoning etc. etc . They do ask question on English . Cleared GATE last year only ...

The buk which i mentioned above has few syn. n anton. ... other then this , i searched for it on internet . Took few CAT preparation buks from my friend ... nothing much
