How to play Lineage 2 on Linux?

hi, Im trying ubuntu right now, I would like to change to ubuntu from windows, but one of the main problems here is that I cant play lineage 2 in linux. Not only that I want to play lineage, but also in a private server and it uses a patch (.exe) to run an update, which add some files to some folders. what can I do? server is l2revenge

I've checked the website, and it looks like I must pay to get this software
but i dont wish to pay! thats why I play in a free OS, in a free server lol

is there a way with wine? i've heard some things but nothing with private servers or lineage
