I would like to analysis, deign and simulate Transimpedance amplifier type (resistor feedback):
I need your help to know the theoretical equations of (BW, Noise, gain of transimpedance amplifier type (resistor feedback)).
Also, I need to learn how can I measure BW, Noise, Gain of a Transimpedance Amplifier using ADS(Advance Design System), so that to make comparison between the theoretical values and simulation value of (BW,...).
Please, anyone can guide me?
Many thanks in advance.

Dear danadakk,
I cannot downloaded your files.
I just tested every link, seems to work fine.

The first two links just take you to a web page, you would have to print
the article they refer to.

Regards, Dana

The links are working for me too. Consider that TI may be blocking IP addresses from your country, or your internet provider is blocking the TI site.

Are you logged into TI ? Maybe that would help.

TI docs attached.

Regards, Dana.
Thank you Dana,
But these files didn't show how the TIA can be measure by ADS simulator.
Regards.

I dont have ADS, its a tad costly to own for a retiree.

The docs simply background on measurements.

ADS does not have any videos/examples of doing that measurement on their
site ?

Dear Dana,
Really I appreciate your help and I think you are the only one that want to help me.
I am searching every day fro any text, thesis, video about how can I measure the TIA, Input referred noise, ..etc. by ADS simulator.
Unfortunately, till know I dint see anything about the measurement, moreover, some people have paper or thesis about this topic and they didn't help me, why I do not know.
Anyway, I would like to thank you so much fro your help.
Regards.

I cant seem to find whole book but start with this an try various
searches for other chapters -

Read online -

Regards, Dana.

Second link a sim of standard amp.

Basically you would drive the TIA with a current source, and sweep its frequency and plot output.
Vert scale output log, Horizon scale log or lin, freq.

Dear Dana,
Thank you so much for your help,
I connected the circuit as shown in the attached files and I connected an AC current source and I made a sweep it with the frequency as you told me,Please, I would like from you to see if the connection of the my circuit and the results are true or false.
Please, is this AC current source will work as the current that will come from photo-diode in case I will connect photo diode?
Thank you once again for you help.
Regards.

The bode plot look right except Y axis in dbM (its actually V/I or impedance) so not sure
thats correct. Using math capability in ADS you should be able to plot Vout/Vin where Vin is
node V at current source. You could use a V src versus I source to drive, but should AC
couple it so you do not disturb bias point of stage.

Yes the photodiode replaces the I source in your application.

Dear Dana,
Regarding the(The bode plot look right except Y axis in dbM (its actually V/I or impedance)), the Y axis is lin as shown in the attached.
and regarding the (Using math capability in ADS you should be able to plot Vout/Vin where Vin is node V at current source), I put a name at current source as shown in the attached files, Please, is this true?
The only one thing that I didn't make it is (You could use a V src versus I source to drive, but should AC couple it so you do not disturb bias point of stage) because honestly I didn't know how can I do it, Please, may you help me about this issue? how can I make a "V" SRC versus "I" current source? and what is the AC couple?
Thank you so much for your help.
Regards.

I do not own or have a copy of ADS, but symbols and parts are placed
on schematic, like V or I sources, then configured, eg. values, waveform
shape if user wants specific waveform type. Like triangle, ramp, as opposed
to sine (which is usually default for AC source).

There must be on ADS website basic video on doing a schematic and
setup for sims, have you gone thru those yet ?

AC couple means you place a capacitor in series with V source. Should be
large enough that its Z at low frequency is very low, like a few ohms or less.

The math capability used typically in plotting results of sim, where user
ads a curve derived from math expression of V and I test points in circuit.
Example you want to look at input Z so you add a math f() that uses
absolute value of V and I and divide them to get Z and that gets plotted.

Regards, Dana.
