how to measure average current from distorted wave

To calculate the average current you will need the tabulated value for the waveform sample values. If you want the average rectified current then you just add all the tabulated values with no sign, and divide by the number of samples. If you want the average including the sign, then just add them with the sign (+/-) and divide by the number of samples. The peak current is simply the maximum absolute value of the tabulated values.

but suppose my one phase peak is -40mA and opposite phase is -60mA..Then should i take my peak to peak current -60 or -40??

Okzz I got it now..means whichever is large..It will be a peak current.
Thanks....
