How to make numlock on at startup?

I need to have numlock on by default on startup ...I am using FC3..I found this command on fedora.org
yum install numlockx

they say I need to be root and online..but when i write this command it doesnt change and I receive the following lines...


[root@shaban ~]$ yum install numlockx

But simpler, check your BIOS and see if you can turn NUMLOCK on there. ost modern BIOS allow this.

There is option to keep the numlock on or off in BIOS.

It looks like the numlockx package was not found by the installation utility in any of the package servers.
 

you can add following lines to /etc/rc.d/rc.sysinit

for tty in /dev/tty[1−9]*; do
setleds −D +num < $tty
done
