HI Friends;

Can any one please help me to make a battery charger??

I wana make a battery charger for two 12V dry batteries connected in series in my power supply to provide backup to load.

NOW:

please tell me in general
1) how much voltage should i give to battery to charge.

2)should the voltage be continuous or full wave pulsuating DC.

3)please also provid the schemetic and links.

thank you very much in advance.

Thank you karthickb3e. but i need its theoritical knowledge.
for example: i want to make charger for 12V battry then how much voltage should i provide to it and for how much time. similarly, for 24v or 19.5v or 6V batteries how much voltages should i provide to them for charging and for how much time.

How to charge sealed lead acid batteries.

Did you connected 12volt battery as serial ?
**broken link removed**

Acctually i need charging circuit for rechargable dry cells instead of Lead-acid battery. and i am going to connect 2 12V dry cells in series. to get 24V that will be fed to LM317 voltage regulator to get regulated 12V, 9V , 3V, 6V and 19.5V at the out put using a slider selector switch.

the advantage is that i can use the load equipment smoothly during power failure. it will be just like a small online UPS.
The battries are backup power sources incase of power failure or fuse blown out.

Can any one please tell me that.

how can i measure that how much percent the battry has been charged and how much its charging is left when it is being charged. i am using an Atmel 89c51 microcontroller in my project to show that information on LCD screen. please give me the idea about that.

Thank you very much

just simple if you want to charg 12 v batt then you must want 14/15v charger first of all you deside which volt to cut off charging for exmple best charging volt cutoff is 13.8 volt for leadacid and for dry batt cut off 14.2 volt know you calculate 0-14.2 divide and get the persantage step and show to your display what aver lcd are ......
