How to learn electronics

I did my M.Tech, but not satisfied with the things i learned. But i'm very eager to learn right from basic with practical knowledge also. Please suggest me something and let me build my own elctronics company in years to come.

hi.i think the best way is to learning by exam.I mean that when ever you read s.th about an element you should make a simple circuit by that .in this way you can get a lot of points about that which you cant learn them in theory.you can use different simulator on you pc.

Thanks a lot Mr. Cyrus. I'll definitely follow what u said, and please inform if any new technology emerges in the market like 3rd generation replaced with 2nd generation intel processors, etc. Just now i prepared a presentation on that.

Many Colleges and Universities publish their course notes on line. The problem is finding them. I had a passing interest in PIC processors so I searched and found :-
**broken link removed** As for the practical side, I started by taking apart old TVs and radios (valve ones!) and used the components to build my own radios. Get yourself a multimeter (DVM) and learn how to use it. It'll be useful for the rest of your life (like a screwdriver). Then a soldering iron and solder, small wire cutters and fine tipped crocodile nosed pliers, these to will used used for the rest of your life, but not so useful for testing batteries and fuses.

While reading all the answers up to now I`ve got the impression that practical experience (soldering, building own circuits and so on...) would be much more important than theory.
I like to mention that - in my opinion - this is somewhat dangerous. Without a sufficient theoretical background you will not have success and your circuits will - probably, perhaps, certainly? - not work.
And the biggest problem will be: You do not know WHY? What will be the consequence ? Your motivation to continue your work is lost.

Thus, my recommendation is to find a "good" and "balanced" trade-off between theory and practice - and start with a sufficient theoretical basis.
For example, try to understand why a simple transistor amplifier needs dc biasing and how this can be accomplished (calculation of all resistors).

This is the sort of thing I was thinking of :- **broken link removed** Googled "electronics for beginners". Another good but variable source is WWW.Wikipedia - lets you search on things like "volt", electric current" etc. can be a bit overwhelming in some aspects.
