Hey, guys, i want to use only 1 power supply within my circuit. Therefore,
I used 24Vdc power supply and step down with a voltage regulator into 5V for PIC microcontroller.
Do you have any idea to isolate the ground between 24Vdc supply and PIC?
I found that the ground of voltage regulator is connected to 24Vdc negative terminal, then it connected to PIC ground as well.
Any voltage regulator or component which can isolate the ground?
Thanks a lot.
from your words i got that u don`t want this negative ground..u can make very good ground(≈0.01v) by making earthing for ur supply metal case....
HINT: if u don`t have earrthing in ur home plugin check with the tester the neutral pin of ur home and connect it to the case of the powersupply((be ATTENTION when u are checking the neurtal u r dealing with 220v/110V)
I want to isolate the ground within my fire alarm system so that the detectors ground will be isolate with the PIC ground since these detectors used 24Vdc and PIC required 5Vdc. I think ground isolation would reduce the fault within system.
