Is it possible to interface a small AV camera using some microcontroller and store a small movie on attached memory....or mayb somehow attach to a USB flash? I'm not clear in my mind but the idea is to have a small camera capable of storing short duration movies or maybe just few pictures. Any ideas??

camera interfacing

yes the idea is implemented in so many applications. For example Olympus C-750 can be interfaced and contrlled by its USB connection. there are numerous camera's and CCD's in the market.
Good luck in your search
