How to interface a device using GPIB Port to PIC and use its data?

I want some information about how can I interface a device having GPIB Port to pc and use its data in my program or a in softwares such as matlab or labview?

You can insert an PCI GPIB card into the PC, install the drivers and start communication with device using GPIB commands as mentioned in the device operational manual.

GPIB Port

If you are using MAtlab, check the manual of the instrumentation toolbox . It is very easy . You may need to know the address of the instrument you are using.
