how to install Xinetd

install xinetd

hello all,

i am newbie to linux..
i am learning socket programming in C and my OS in Cent OS.5

the basic thing i think i need to install xinetd in my system.
actually, i came to know when i have checked the file xinetd.conf in my system (which is not present). but there is one directory named xinet.d placed at /etc/xined.d..

so can any one please tell me how to get xinetd.conf file...
am i right about installing of xinetd??
if yes then how i can get its setup files..??
please forward me link at least..

how to install xinetd

If you want to configure the xinetd service. You can use a graphical configuration tool: Services Configuration Tool. To start it, type:

system-config-services

hellol i have tried to do it but i am getting such message..

Unable to initialize graphical environment. Most likely cause of failure
is that the tool was not run using a graphical environment. Please either
start your graphical user interface or set your DISPLAY variable.
Caught exception: could not open display

Do you use Telnet or SSH?

xinetd install

If you use Telnet or SSH to access remote host, your local host must be configured correctly for running graphical applications. For example, the DISPLAY variable should be set correctly.
