Hi
can anybody tell me how i install the linux on laptop
thanks

Re: install

the same way as on desktops, but merely donnot forget to tick the OS for laptops which has laptop oriented software. Read the on screen tips during installation and you will reach the destination with success.

Re: install

Well the installation on laptop is exactly similar to that of a desktop. I guess your problem was how to install linux.. Well first you need to partition your disk to make some free space. Then boot the system through your linux bootable disk and the installation will start. Here you must be really careful about choosing right partition/free space for linux, otherwise you might end up loosing your windows data. In linux disk drives are named as sda1 ,sda2... you must doubly check which drive is windows...

After you have got the actuall free space to be used you will have to make 3 partitions (which is usually from the linux setup.. sometimes it is automated as well), one as swap space, which is double the capacity of your RAM , other is mount and root partitions.

Hope that helps.
Cheers!
