I need to get a current increased. how to do it?

the input power is 3.3v, 1A, i need the output current is 2A or 4A with 3.3V.Any ideas can be given?

Thanks.

Connect more power supplies in parallel.

You don't explain if your source has te capacity to supply more courent ?? is it a TRANSFORMER or a Switching power supply ??

Sorry about it.

Actually, it is the 3.3V, 1A power from the mother board through PCI. 1A is maximum current driven. The PCI card current driven is 2A, the voltage is still 3.3v. Is there any circuit to do it? To increase the current ?

Thanks.

Warning : Playing with your motherboard can be dangerous !!!!

With a given power supply the maximum current you can gain is in short circuit. But if you want more than short circuit (or say 1 ohm r) current then its impossible without modifying your power supplies or adding some other sources.

Find out what is input resistance of your card ,say its R,then you get V/R current into the card ,but if this aint enough you need to modifiy your power supply.

Try some kind of external current sources instead.

Any PeeCee supply is capable of more than 1A at 3.3v.
You are limited to 1A because of the small connector
pins on the PCI buss. Some cards overcome this
limitation by using the 5v inputs to drive a DC-DC
convertor, some by using a separate connector to
the power supply.

you asked " Is there any circuit to do it? To increase the current ? "
I think you can use the output voltage from the PCI card (3.3v,1A)to make on/off switch (MOSFET for example),or usind triac,or any electronic kind of switches, but this will lead to additional external circuit.....?,which uses external power supply,so you can control the voltage and current...........:)
