UDP/DLC/IP Ver4/ICMP/ARP

We do have an Ethernet 10/100 MAC IP core, How do we implement some other protocols by using hardware? such as the UDP, DLC, IPv4, ICMP and ARP? Anyone can recommand what's the first steps we should do?

Thx!!

It would be quite complicate for H/W to process the protocol suit that you mentioned.

There are some comercial packet processor but also need the host processor for the protocol handling.

I would also like to know if there is someone doing the paket processing

We have two MCU IPs available, one is 1T high performance 8051 and the other is the AMD compatible 80186 MPU.

nelsonguy, this is software stuff , it makes no
sense thinking about those protocols in hardware.
Too complicated and variable, too application/user dependent etc..
may be you can create in hardware some functions
to make some operations faster, like checksums..
but I doubt it would be convenient.
Greets,
sgrudu
