hi can any one plzz tell me how to get data from 89C51 microcontroller on to
HYPER TERMINAL....!!!
and also how to receive data from HYPER terminal..???
what are steps required to connect to hyper terminal..??

PLZZZ help me:cry:

Re: NEED HELP

use serial rs232 communication.

you need a level converter ic max232 or you can do it with simple transistors.

Re: NEED HELP

well i have used max232 but the problem is how can see the data written to the
serial port...???

Re: NEED HELP

Use a terminal such as Windows Hyperterminal.

Just make sure your Baud, start/stop bits, ... match.

Re: NEED HELP

Hi,

First u have to connect a max 232 to ur microcontroller connecting up the tx/rx pins in order to convert singal from TTL to RS232 and vic versa.

To get data from microcontroller onto hyperterminal, u need to ensure that in ur firmware the specific parameters for the data transmission are set accrodingly from datasheet. After which load a char into the transmit register for transmission. Also take note that the baud rate u set for ur microcontroller must match with the hyerterminal setting if not data will not transmit.

For receiving data from hyperterminal , u need to load the data received from the receive data register to a port. Or u can also directly load the data received to the transmit register if u wan to view instantly of wadever data u send and receive on the hyperterminal.

To connect to hyper terminal, u need RS232 cable to hook up ur hardware to the computer. Then at the window hyperterminal, u need to set the correct baud rate and choose the com port for transmission.

Thanks! :D
