How to generate .elf file for ARM compiler?

Hi,
I am begineer of embedde C programming.I am write a small coding in C.I got the .o(out) file with the hlp Codewright Compiler(With the hlp cmd hcarm -o demo demo.c -o).
I build the programe.I link the progrm with help Metaware ARM compiler.Here only i got da error.The ARM compiler required .elf file.I dont know how to generate the .elf file.

Please give any suggestion.
